Writing Articles That Are Search Engine Optimized

By Randa Kassisieh · Comments (0)

Long Tail Keywords are a Must: Any expert at SEO will tell you that targeting long tail keywords and phrases is an absolute must. The reason long tail keywords are so effective is because they are very specific in nature. If you use the keyword “dog training” you’ll have broad results and a lot of competition; if you focus on “how to train your dog in a week” you’ll get much better and more focused results. The odds of getting traffic with keywords that are more narrowly focused is greater because there are less competing sites and it fits better with what people actually search for online. Relate the Title to the Body of the Article: The title of your article is very important and you need to make sure that it matches the rest of your article. Don’t write a vague title that doesn’t really connect with the main article. Creativity and keywords are fine for your title but remember that it is the first thing (and sometimes the only thing) that is listed by the search engines so if it doesn’t work with the rest of the article you probably won’t get a very good response.

Experiment with Various Titles: When you choose a few keywords to write articles around, you can start to experiment with the titles of the articles first without writing any other content. You just might find that playing around with titles sets off your creative juices. You want your articles to be able to reach the widest possible audience so you need to play around with variations of the keywords you’ve selected. You’ll be able to spread your articles around much farther than you probably realize by doing this. In summation, optimizing your articles for the major search engines is the first step that you can take for ensuring that what you write will actually get you the results you seek. Once you get a good position in the major search engines like Google, you’ll be able to expand your reach and target many more keywords that will bring you additional traffic through a number of your articles. So the real secret to finding success is making sure that what you write is properly optimized for the search engines while also making sure that the readers will enjoy them as well.
