There are a few techniques that I like to use when marketing my products and services offline. And today, I want to share some of these ways with you. The cost of goods in America are growing higher more and more each day, so it’s important that your business has a chance to stand strong despite these tough times.
If you really want to succeed in your business during these tough times, you will want to buckle up, and take action in your business. The first thing that you will want to do is to contact your group of existing customers, and start marketing more of your products to these people.
Your existing customers are the people who know you the best and will be willing to do business with you again. If you’ve sold them a $30 item, then you probably could resell them on your $50 product – just because the previous item that they bought was extremely good. You existing customers are the lifeline of your business, so be sure to contact them on a daily basis to earn more sales.
There are some other things that you will want to do to improve your sales and profits. This one other thing is to include “package inserts” in all of your mailings to your customers. What is a package insert? Well it’s simply something additional that you include in the direct mail package that you send to your customers.
The insert could be a pitch for another product, an upcoming seminar, or even could be a way to get new referrals. I once received a package insert from this guy when he was trying to sell me his “real estate investment” course. I received a thorough mailing piece from this guy, and included in the package was a customized postcard that had my name all over it.
I can tell that they put some time and effort in developing that direct mail campaign, so I was happy to see that this guy was willing to go the extra mile to get me to sign up for his course. Unfortunately, I didn’t buy his real estate course. My true business is consulting, and I wasn’t looking to shy away from that. And the same still applies today.
The point is simple: package inserts can be effective for you. Just get a little creative with your approach, and you will see your efforts pay off big. If you have the money and the resources to customize your mailing piece, then test it. You never know what might bring the most response from your efforts.
I like package inserts because they’re like an “extra goodie” in the direct mail package. It attracts attention, and they’re fun to play with. Add a meaningful image to your package insert, and just watch as your sales increase.
Make your package insert something relevant to the mailing piece itself, as it will be much easier to close a sale this way. Don’t just add a package insert just to do it – make sure it’s relevant and has an obvious call to action on it.
Good luck with using package inserts to market your business.
